THE MOON IN THE WATER JAR

That Mid-Autumn night, the children didn’t have many toys. All they had were a few cellophane lanterns, a small plate of mooncakes, and a large earthenware water jar sitting under the bamboo groove by the front porch.

One evening, Grandma called all the kids over, pointed into the jar, and whispered, “Look, the moon is right here!” The children leaned over, and there it was—a round, glowing moon gently shimmering on the water’s surface. They all squealed with joy.
